Stockholm Text will publish the next novels by Mari Jungstedt and Carin Gerhardsen in February. By Mari Jungstedt in the Anders Knutas series you will find Killer’s Art and by Carin Gerhardsen in the Hammarby series you will find Playing House. Today Stockholm Text introduced its imprint BOOKMARK, intended for print and digital releases of titles on the Swedish market. The first title to be published is Sylvia Day’s “Seven Years to Sin”. The book will be called “Synda” in Swedish and will be available in bookstores in early December.
When Amazon introduced its author rank in October Sylvia Day was the #1 author with more sold books than any other author.

We keep talking about The Gingerbread House but last night was unique, when the book after a Daily Find on B&N became the #1 bestseller – even outselling Fifty shades. For a startup publisher like Stockholm Text that is mind-boggling!

It’s a good thing the Swedes have universal healthcare because their crime writers are maiming and killing the (fictional) citizenry by the boatload. But in real life? Not so much.”

It has been a very interesting BookExpo here in New York – lots of contacts and lots of insights from the Digital Book Conference. Among the reflections is that an e-reader is a surprisingly rare sight, a clear sign that the tablet is taking over as the primary reader for digital books.
